The piece by composer Martin Groß has been realised as a sound installation at Welterbe Zollverein, “contemporary art ruhr“ / “ExtraSchicht – Die Mittsommernacht der Industriekultur“ in 2008 in Essen and at the « 34. Bremer Förderpreis für Bildende Kunst » at Städtische Galerie im Buntentor Bremen in 2011. Furthermore, it could be heard on various occasions as soundtrack to my video work ICI. The digital typo-animation ICI based on the French adverb ‘ici’ (here), moves slowly to the center of the screen from four sides, glides over it and diverges. The interference produces suggestive symmetric patterns. The circle that appears for a moment surrounded by four lines is the center of a minimalist meditation about poles of perception. This visual movement is accompanied by the serial composition of systematically shifting sounds:

That way Cyclic Tune was or will be showcased in exhibitions and festivals in Berlin, Bremen, Dresden, Ebringen, Essen, Hannover, Örebro (Sweden), Oldenburg, Potsdam, Quebec, Tübingen and Villach (Austria). ICI received several nominations and won the 3rd prize at the Tempelhof-Schöneberger Kunstpreis (art prize) in Berlin in 2010.
