1. How would you describe this form of writing sound and / or music?
I would describe it as liberating within a language we are very familiar with but do not necessarily always appreciate and acknowledge. Music-making through movement and more specifically the movement of a conductor, which governs all aspects of the performance.
2. How do you think your proposal can be interpreted?
Freely, every performance will sound completely different from the last.
3. What meanings or additional level provides this particular form of writing to the performance and / or to the interpretation of the work?
It recognises and plays with the idea of movement in the music. Amplifying the implications a conductor has on realisation of music. By using defined excerpts means that the conductor is not randomly improvising but rather following an organised pattern of movements. Not letting the enesmble aware of the excerpts that the conductor is performing allows for spontaneity in the realised improvisation, with the players focusing on the movements rather than re-imagining the work that is being conducted.
