1. How would you describe this form of writing sound and / or music?

This music combines traditional western notation with graphic scoring and rules for open interpretation, creating a synthesis of heritage and individuality.

2. How do you think your proposal can be interpreted?

I think it can be interpreted as a straight-forward minimalist callback, as a therapeutic exercise using music as a tool, as a way of building communication within an ensemble as well as highlighting individuality, or as an artistic entity, combining music, visual art and poetry.

3. What meanings or additional level provides this particular form of writing to the performance and / or to the interpretation of the work?

The Riley-esque cellular structure allows for freedom of choice within a structure, further defined by the guidance offered by the directions. The augenmusik helps to guide performers in their choices, but allows their personal ideas to permeate as well. The poetical and spiritual text allows the performers to play the piece not simply as a piece of music, but as an exercise for their souls.
